Top 3 marketing tips for your small business

People think they are going to be able to switch on Facebook ads and it will rain in sales. Sadly this isn’t the case for most businesses, especially ones who have never run ads before

DATA
When you are new to running ads, the most important thing is data. So by running ads, even with no sales, Facebook is still collecting data to better determine, who is most likely to buy your product. This data is saved in your ads accounted and some metrics are reflected in your account analytics.

It is now your job to interpret those metrics to understand what is/ isn’t working.

LOOK AT THE OVERALL PICTURE
Just because its not getting any sales, does not necessarily mean the ad isn’t working. Remember Facebook ads job is to direct traffic to your website and your websites job to convert.

So track on platform data, this is, the data based off actions taken on the Facebook platform. What % of people are stopping to watch your video, engaging with your video, how many seconds are they watching, are they clicking through to your website etc.

And then with this data in hand, use the learnings to make better creatives, and keep repeating this process. I promise, you will start getting sales

OBJECTIVE
Ensure you are using the right objective. If you want sales, use the sales objective, if you want leads, use the lead objective etc.

TARGETING
Check your targeting is correct and ensure that it is going to the right audience: gender, location, interests and that your audience size is above 2,000,000.

CREATIVE
90% of your Facebook ad relies heavily on creative. Test different creative styles- videos, images, carousels, collections, catalogs. And test different hooks (first 3-5 seconds of your video) to see what works best for your business.
